2019 • 06 36 Atotal of 576 Tzu Chi Kota Kinabalu volunteers and members of the public gathered to form the image of a leaf from the Bodhi tree and the words “TCKK (the abbreviation of Tzu Chi Kota Kinabalu)”. A group of 144 teachers and students from Papar Middle School braved an hour-long journey to participate in the formation as a gesture of gratitude to Tzu Chi for its continuous support for the school’s environmental conservation efforts. The event, which featured exhibitions, foot-bathing ceremonies and health screening sessions, was graced by the presence of five Dharma masters and representatives from eight Buddhist organizations. Approximately 4,000 volunteers and members of the public participated in the Buddha Bathing Ceremony held by Tzu Chi Malacca. Various activities were conducted alongside the Ceremony, including the collection of bamboo banks, free oral health screenings, filial gratitude ceremonies, sampler sessions of courses run by theTzuChi Continuing Education Centre and educational sessions to raise awareness on environmental conservation and vegetarianism.
