4 Master Cheng Yen’s unwavering three wishes encapsulate the vision of Tzu Chi’s missions. In over half a century, Tzu Chi has grown into an international NGO with footprints in five continents, covering 128 countries/regions, transcending race and religion. In 1992, Taiwanese couple David Liu and Echo Chien brought Tzu Chi’s Great Love to Malacca. From their factory, they inspired their employees to engage in charitable work. By 1993, Tzu Chi’s compassionate ideals had influenced many people to join the charitable endeavours. Rapid expansion and establishment of a network of liaison offices ensued, with the Kuala Lumpur & Selangor and Malacca Chapters taking charge of Tzu Chi’s missions in Southern, Central, and East Malaysia to collectively coordinate a network of volunteers who are ever ready to respond to calls for help and alleviate suffering. May all hearts be purified; May all societies live in harmony; May the world be free of disasters . These are my three wishes every year. - Dharma Master Cheng Yen
