22 Cancer and stroke patients often have to undergo long-term treatments which are physically and mentally tormenting for both patients and their families. Empathised with their pain, TIMA KL & Selangor established the Stroke Patients’ Support Group and Cancer Support Group in 2013. The Stroke Patients’ Support Group organises monthly activities such as group physical therapy, speech therapy, and emotional support to provide care to the suffering patients and help them manage and improve their physical recovery and independence in daily life. The Cancer Support Group organises monthly gatherings where medical personnel share their knowledge and offer psychological support, helping cancer patients regain a sense of purpose and motivation in life. Patients also experience the uplifting power of empathy and the joy of giving through mutual support.
