19 Steadfast in Loving and Caring, Rain or Shine Deep empathy for patients Taman Sinar Harapan provides care and protection to individuals with severe physical and/or intellectual conditions. Meanwhile, volunteers also have much to gain, recognising their blessings while serving. In the past, leprosy patients were isolated, but the facility was eventually opened for public visits. Heng Pak Nang, a late resident of Christian faith, not only donated RM10 monthly to Tzu Chi’s funds, but also cared for other residents. She said, “ Tzu Chi volunteers have taught me to smile, love, and help others .”
