When volunteers redirected a pack of unclaimed supplies to Sharipah, who had just returned home with a small portion of porridge to share with her family, she exclaimed, “These are godsend! Thank you so much!” Sharipah’s husband had been unemployed for three months, and they often relied on food provided by neighbours. A week later, when volunteers returned with more supplies, she expressed emotionally, “I would not have access to such an abundance of food if it were not for you. I sincerely thank Tzu Chi.”
