9 We are an international NGO that transcends nationality, religion, sector, and institution Captions (from top): In 2011, TzuChi and the Czech Embassy signed aMoU in the presence of aUNHCR representative. In 2016, TzuChi andMAS signed their fourthMoU, extending their partnership for another five years. In 2014, TzuChi volunteerswere dispatched to KLIA inbatches to offer care to familymembers ofMH370 passengers. In 2017, the ALCgraduates attended a graduation ceremony at the KL Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall. Malaysia March 2005: Signed the first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UNHCR on refugee assistance, including provision of living supplies, medical consultations and assistance, and education. As of 2022, the Alternative Learning Centres (ALCs) jointly established by Tzu Chi and UNHCR have recorded a total of 5,116 enrolments. 2019: Became a partner of the UNHRD (Humanitarian Response Depot). Signed MoUs with Malaysia Airlines (MAS), AirAsia, and Batik Air, in 2007, 2015, and 2022, respectively. Volunteers participate regularly in humanitarian aid and services training courses and drills. Supported MAS in responding to the MASwings plane crash in Sabah in October 2013, and the MH370 and MH17 aviation incidents in March and July 2014, respectively. The volunteers’ role in providing humanitarian care was widely acknowledged by the society at large. 2018: Appointed as a partner of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) to support the government agency in the event of any domestic natural disaster or emergency relief operations.
