The world of Tzu Chi September 2024 (Vol.151)
2024 • 09 28 To raise funds for the construction of the Klang Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall, Tzu Chi Klang organised a vegetarian banquet at the Top Glove Tower, which received enthusiastic support fromnearly a thousand attendees, some of whom travelled from as far away as Penang. Attendee Ng Chong Kit remarked, “My mother said that since my wife is from Klang, I should seize the opportunity to support the Jing Si Hall construction, so we can inspire more people to join Tzu Chi.” The restaurant owner, Chee Yong Fatt, who sponsored the meal, was delighted and looked forward to the completion of the Jing Si Hall, hoping it would become a community hub for charitable activities. Every contribution from the attendees will turn into bricks and tiles of the Jing Si Hall, making it a building filled with love. The Tzu Chi Charity Golf event, organised by the Tzu Chi KL & Selangor Entrepreneurs’ Group, saw 132 golfers gather at the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort to contribute to the Klang Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall Building Fund. Winnie Ng, a national player since the age of 14, is well aware of Tzu Chi’s charitable efforts and is particularly appreciative of its principle of “dedicated funds for specific purposes”. She enjoyed the event and hoped to contribute within her capacity. Event coordinator Lee Peng Sian highlighted that the Jing Si Hall is not only a spiritual fortress for Tzu Chi volunteers, but also a place that inspires kindness and love. In the event of a disaster, it will serve as a disaster relief centre, safeguarding the community and its residents.
