It is a pledge to practise compassion and to serve unconditionally with selfless love. After three years of prolonged anticipation, about 350 volunteers from Tzu Chi KL & Selangor and its sub-chapters finally embarked on the journey back home in mid-June 2023, fulfilling their heartfelt aspiration of being certified as Tzu Chi commissioners by Master Cheng Yen. Among them were Siew Ket Wey and wife, Yap Li Shya, who came across Tzu Chi because of their son with special needs; Dr. Saw Aik, who decided to walk the Tzu Chi path as he was moved by the Master’s wisdom and the volunteers’ dedication; and Khoo Chin Theong, who realised what matters in life after suddenly losing the vision in one eye.
