Kang Zi Quan, a 10th-grader from the Yellow sports house, participated in three track races. He shared that the relay race had taught him the significance of mutual understanding and trust among team members. During the baton exchange, he did not turn back, and this allowed him to sprint ahead without delay. In addition to winning three gold medals in the races, his biggest gain was realising that when each team member fulfils their responsibilities and unites as a cohesive unit, they can collectively contribute to the success of the entire team. Besides the students and teachers, the parents also cherished the sports meet. Carol Chong, whose son enrolled in Grade 7 at TCISKL this year, revealed that her son had never participated in a sports meet before as he had never excelled in sports. She shared, “When the teacher asked the students to choose their preferred events, my son was unsure. I suggested that he join the marching team, and encouraged him. In the end, he joined the marching team and the rowing team.” Carol mentioned that the sports day gave her son a strong sense of participation. She also noticed remarkable team spirit amongst the students and commended all sports houses for their excellent performances. She believed that the teachers, team leaders, the school, and everyone involved invested The tension was palpable at the tug-of-war competition held during the sports week.
