The world of Tzu Chi May-June 2022 (Vol.141)

First Tzu Chi Buddha Bathing Ceremony in Nepal May 8 marked the 3-in-1 occasion of Buddha Day, Mother’s Day and Tzu Chi Day, and saw Tzu Chi volunteers and members of the public in 48 countries/regions joining the grand Buddha bathing ceremonies held at the Jing Si Abode and Linji Huguo Chan Temple in Taiwan, via live telecast. In Nepal, the ceremony took place at 4.45 a.m. The volunteers began setting up and decorating the venue before the break of dawn, successfully enabling 20 people to participate in the maiden Tzu Chi Buddha bathing ceremony in Lumbini, the Buddha’s birthplace, and rejoice in the Dharma. Tzu Chi volunteers held the first Tzu Chi Buddha bathing ceremony in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha.
