With the sincerest and purest mind, the group prayed for a peaceful world free of disasters and conflicts. Concerned that the volunteers’ knees would hurt from kneeling on sand particles and gravel, volunteer Lee Soo Leng swept the road several times and knelt to clear the weeds under the scorching sun prior to the event. In anticipation of the difficulty he would have in maintaining his balance while performing the prostrations, Soo Leng, who has Parkinson’s disease, served at the Tzu Chi premises daily as rehabilitation exercise. That, coupled with care from his wife and children, he was able to complete the prostrating pilgrimage successfully. Malacca
