27 It has been a tradition for Tzu Chi to organize a Year-end Distribution event for its care recipients, where the latter would enjoy a reunion meal together and receive a festive pack each for the Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has made such events impossible in the recent two years. Nonetheless, the caring hearts never wavered. For example, volunteers in Malacca, Muar, Kluang and Kota Tinggi not only visited the care recipients at their homes with CNY festive packs, but also delivered delicious vegetarian treasure pots ( poon choi ) and home-cooked dishes to the care recipients on CNY’s eve.
