The fortune teller asked what good deeds I had done in my past life to deserve so much help in this life. Well, I have no idea about my past life, but I do know that in this life, I have not done any evil deeds. That is why there are noble people who come to my aid.” Granny Lim expressed that she was thankful that the doctors and nurses in the hospital had taken great care of her, and when she was in great difficulty, they approached Tzu Chi to help her. She also appreciated the kindness of the volunteers, and told herself that she should live well as they wished. She said, “I have no other wishes, other than to have food and a place to sleep.” Mee Moy and Chu Mooi reassured Granny Lim that they would call her younger sister for a reunion, which the granny was happy to hear. To celebrate the move, the volunteers had cooked a few vegetarian dishes. It was like a family gathering, and Granny Lim chatted with the Yaps pleasantly. The volunteers felt relieved that although it might not be the best home in Granny Lim’s dream, it will, however, be a better home. Finally, Granny Lim has a cozy nest to spend her old age in comfort.
