During Eid al-Fitr, Muslims can often be seen visiting graves of their ancestors. Is this part of the Eid al-Fitr celebration? No. It is not. Muslims can visit the graves at any time. However, since there are two days of holidays for Eid al-Fitr, many people will return to their hometowns. As the whole family gather, they often visit their ancestors’ graves together to pay respect and reminisce the love of their ancestors. Over time, it has become a common phenomenon during the Eid al-Fitr festival. Eid al-Fitr is not a day for Muslims to visit the graves Eid al-Fitr is a day when Muslims celebrate the successful completion of one month’s fasting. The etiquettes observed during Eid al-Fitr mainly include: 1. Muslims are encouraged to eat a small amount of food after the morning prayers of Eid al-Fitr to signify that the fast has ended. They go to the mosque to worship and give thanks to Allah. 2. Clean the mouth and praise Allah with a cleaner and clearer voice. 3. Bathe and change clothes, and worship Allah with a cleaner body. 4. Spray incense and dress nicely to show Islamic festivals and the joyful mood of Muslims. 5. Pay the zakat fitrah before the Eid prayer; donate to help the poor in accordance with the family headcount to show the Islamic values of love and fraternity. 6. On the morning of Eid al-Fitr, Muslims bathe and dress up, recite words of praise to glorify Allah in their hearts, and gather in the largest mosque in the area for a grand ceremony that exemplifies religious unity. 7. Offer peace to one another. After the prayer ceremony, the congregation listens to the imam ’s sermon, shake hands and offer peace to one another, and seek forgiveness.
