TZU CHI 131 45 Vegetarian Go Easy In conjunction with the Earth Ethical Eating Day on January 11, Tzu Chi Malacca organized a vegetarian awareness event at Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall, with representatives from the Buddhist and Hindu faiths, as well as Sri Sathya Sai Baba Centre in attendance. The aim was to call upon the public to adopt a vegetarian diet and pray that this pandemic will come to an end soon. Tzu Chi volunteers also handed out copies of maps containing location details and information of 79 vegetarian restaurants in Malacca, for the ease of locating them. Raju, a Hindu, concurred with the idea of vegetarianism. He said, “All beings are equal. We shall cherish all beings and go vegetarian. By eating less meat, we can help save our Earth too.” Malacca 10.01.2021 Reported by Julie Yen Yu Chu Photograph by Hong Geok Hui Tzu Chi Seremban launched a Vegetarian Go Easy campaign from August 4 to December 31, 2020, where vouchers were given to Tzu Chi donors, teachers, students and public members to encourage them to take a vegetarian meal.
