Since the onslaught of the pandemic, more than 20 sessions of relief distribution had been held for the stateless people in Sabah. In mid-October, a doctor from Semporna Hospital informed Tzu Chi Tawau of milk powder shortage facing the residents on Dawana Island. Hence, Dr. Jason Ong and Dr. Tee Tze Yuan from Tzu Chi International Medical Association (TIMA) visited the island to understand the islanders’ needs and collect the necessary information for relief distribution.
