TZU CHI 128 41 Local News Recycling Point Set Up at Berjaya Times Square Due to recent spikes in Covid-19 cases, the government enforced a two-week Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. With the closure of Tzu Chi International School Kuala Lumpur, and hence the school canteen, volunteers helped packed fruit and vegetable supplies in the evening of October 13 and delivered them along with face masks to 22 Tzu Chi care recipients and beneficiary families of “Kita1Keluarga” relief programme. This not only avoid food wastage, but also saved the families some grocery expenses. KL & Selangor 2020.10.13 Reported by Tan Jing Yun Photograph by Lim Yen Kuan Berjaya Corporation (BCorp) launched the “Recycle for a Good Cause” programme and set up the Group’s first recycling point at Berjaya Times Square. Its opening on September 18 was graced by BCorp founder, Tan Sri Vincent Tan, and a hundred of his staff members. He hoped this initiative will be a starting point for them to learn more about environmental protection and eventually practise it at home. The recycling point operates on the third Friday of each month, a day for the staff to bring and sort their recyclables. These then will be transferred to a Tzu Chi recycling centre. Shirley Quah, BCorp Deputy General Manager of Corporate Communications, predicts participation from more than 50 operating companies and subsidiaries, and all the contributions will go towards Tzu Chi’s “Kita1Keluarga” relief programme.
