TZU CHI 127 41 Relentless Love for Religious School Local News The Tzu Chi Entrepreneurs’ Group initiated Happy Day, a movement to promote vegetarianism whereby the participating entrepreneurs commit to organizing a vegetarian meal gathering at their respective companies weekly and lead their employees in practising a vegetarian diet. Kok Siew Seng, one of the participating entrepreneurs, who runs a heavymachineries business, has adopted a vegetarian lifestyle, influenced by his son, who studies at Tzu Chi International School Kuala Lumpur (TCISKL). He began spreading the message on vegetarianism to his employees, while his wife helped to source for vegetarian packed meals with a variety of ingredients. The couple also shared the benefits of vegetarianism with the employees to make their company-wide vegetarian meal gatherings more meaningful. During the movement control order period, volunteers promptly delivered nearly ten types of dry provisions and beverages to the school, which faced a shortage of food supply. On July 15, 2020, the school was hit by a flash flood; volunteers distributed relief supplies, face masks and gloves to the school in August and September 2020. Furthermore, the volunteers presented the school with 45 units of rehal , a foldable book rest used for placing holy books during prayers. Hj. Mahmood Md. Zain, the head of the school, expressed his gratitude to Tzu Chi for repeatedly offering assistance to the school and opined that all religions or faiths are no different from each other, for all religious teachings serve to educate their devotees to contribute to society by practising religious values in daily life.
