TZU CHI 127 11 2019.08 Continued to extend care in Sofala Province; distributed eco-blankets, mosquito nets, multi-purpose foldable beds, rice, etc. in the villages of Tica, Lamego and Nhamatanda. 2020.02.17-18 Floods in central region of Mozambique; local volunteers initiated relief efforts, helped clean and distributed hot meals and rice to evacuation centres, and assessed the damages at the victims’ homes. Each of the 1,301 affected households received a bag of rice before leaving the evacuation centre. 2020.02.28 Local volunteers distributed 21,458 pieces of pre-loved clothing from Taiwan to 5,748 students in five schools. 2020.03-08 Donated 93,725 pieces of pandemic prevention supplies, including masks, gloves, protective clothing and test kits, and 6,048 bags of rice to various institutions and hospitals in response to the Covid-19 pandemic; while Maputo volunteers were invited by the local Health Department to promote Covid-19 preventive measures in various communities. 2020.08 Initiated a food relief programme and distributed 41 kg of food supplies each to 4,105 needy households (16,420 people) impacted by the pandemic.
