19 Recycling centre on an island Pulau Ketam, located off the coast of Port Klang, Selangor, is a famous fishing village frequented by tourists. To solve the rubbish issue, the local volunteers overcame numerous challenges before setting up a recycling centre on the island. It was opened on October 15, 2011. It was challenging to do recycling on an island, but the volunteers persisted and sent the recyclables to a trader in Port Klang by boat. In 2014, the recycling centre was upgraded to an educational recycling centre. Following beautification work, the centre now attracts visitors from both local and foreign sources, especially for those who wished to gain more knowledge on recycling.
