Together, we build a better world. O bserving mind Notice the negative thoughts, feelings, memories and images associated with the virus. Let them come and go like clouds drifting in the sky. Response wisely instead of reacting negatively (e.g., panic buying, sharing fake news). V enerable Corona The virus is a teacher. Everything in life happens for a positive purpose. It teaches us humility, compassion, gratitude, impermanence and the importance of basic hygiene practices. I mpermanence - this too shall pass Just like everything in life, the outbreak will eventually end. Even if it does not end early, slowly but surely, we will cope better. D epersonalize - I am not alone Whatever suffering we have related to the virus (disease, travel restriction, economic downturn), remember, it is a collective experience for humanity. Let us continue supporting one another. 1 one-pointed wise attention Instead of feeling helpless, pay attention to what we can do for wellness. Savour the little pleasures in life amidst the pandemic. 9 basic measures to prevent infection • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol content. • Avoid close contact with people who are sick. • Stay home when you are sick. • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then discard the tissue in the trash. • Wear a face mask to protect yourself and others from the disease. • Clean and disinfect frequently-touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipes. • Avoid non-essential travel and public gatherings.
