05 In the newly-tabled Budget 2020, the Malaysian government allocated funds totalling RM64.1bil to the education sector – an increase of RM3.9bil from the RM60.2bil proposed in Budget 2019, granting the Education Ministry the largest allotment of government funding for two consecutive years. The government’s emphasis on education reflects its integral role in shaping future talents. Bright, young minds are a nation’s greatest assets in driving progress, hence we should strive to empower them through equal educational opportunities for all.
