TZU CHI 118 35 Local News The Tzu Chi Cancer Support Group organized a fun walk which attracted the participation of 200 members of the Support Group and their families, cancer survivors, TIMA members and cancer patients. The fun walk is the Support Group’s first outdoor activity of its kind in six years, held in conjunction with its sixth anniversary. The participants either strolled or jogged along the route at a leisurely pace whilst admiring the surrounding scenery. The Support Group has been conducting courses on cancer-related topics and healthcare talks on a monthly basis since its inception on October 13, 2013, besides serving as a platform for mutual encouragement among cancer patients to boost their morale as well as promote physical and emotional well-being. KL & Selangor 2019.11.24 Twenty-five volunteers from Kota Tinggi and Ulu Tiram were invited to SJK (C) Yok Poon, a seaside school located in Sungai Rengit, the town centre of Pengerang, to raise awareness on the importance of environmental conservation among more than 160 students from Primary 1 to 5. The volunteers performed a lively sketch highlighting the dangers of disposable cutlery, besides conducting an engaging hands-on session that offered the students first-hand experience in recycling processes. During the event, SJK (C) Yok Poon principal Goh Siew Ng expressed her hope for the students to incorporate environmental conservation efforts in daily life to protect the environment.
