Nevertheless, ensuring education for all requires collaborative effort from all stakeholders involved, including the government, schools, parents and the relevant non-governmental organizations (NGOs). As a grassroots Buddhist humanitarian organization, Tzu Chi is grounded in the spirit of charity and has been extending concern and assistance to underprivileged households through home visits and financial as well as material aid. In 1996, the Tzu Chi Teachers’ Association was formed to encourage educators to adopt a holistic approach to teaching with an emphasis on imparting moral values.
