Fifty- eight percent of kidney patients undergoing treatment at the Tzu Chi Dialysis Centre in Penang are diabetics, hence the Centre has been conducting a weekly exercise since 2017 to encourage kidney patients to care for their feet, besides guiding them in proper wound management for their lower limbs to prevent festering wounds that might lead to amputation. The exercise takes place before every dialysis session as an effort to safeguard the overall well-being of the 110 kidney patients from the Centre and foster closer interaction between them.
