TZU CHI 114 33 Local News The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has recently launched the “Jalinan Kasih 3R PJ Kita” programme, which was officiated by the Mayor of Petaling Jaya, Dato’ Mohd Sayuthi bin Bakar. In his speech at the launching ceremony, Dato’ Sayuthi advised all to practise the three R’s of environmental conservation, namely Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Volunteer Michele Ng Meng Tian, who represented Tzu Chi at the ceremony, received a certificate of appreciation from Dato’ Sayuthi in recognition of Tzu Chi KL & Selangor’s efforts in promoting environmental conservation among the community. “When we unite in advocating for environmental conservation, particularly with the cooperation of state authorities, we will achieve greater public awareness on the cause in the near future,” Michele remarked. The conference featured seminars, forums and discussions, besides highlighting Tzu Chi’s ideals in humanistic medicine. Physicians specializing in stress management were invited to share their insights on strategies to relieve work-related stress. Dr Lee Qin Yi, who is based in Singapore, expressed her intention to practise Tzu Chi’s concepts of humanistic medicine and environmental conservation upon returning to her home country.
