The World Of Tzu Chi(Vol.113)

TZU CHI 113 39 Honouring the master Master Zhizhe led his disciples to the grave of his refuge master, Master Huisi, to pay his respects. Master Huisi’s parting words – “Do not be the last bearer of the Dharma” – remain deeply etched in Master Zhizhe’s memory. Relinquishing a noble vow When Master Zhizhe prompted his disciples to pledge to sacrifice oneself for the advancement of the Dharma and the prospect of Enlightenment and delivering all beings from suffering, none replied. All of them hesitated in uneasy silence, renouncing the opportunity to undertake an honourable vow. [Photograph by Lim Su Nguan] Shining the Spotlight on Master Zhizhe
