TZU CHI 112 35 On May 26, 2019, 130 Tzu Shao members from the KL & Selangor division gained first-hand experience in the laborious processes of harvesting paddy and threshing paddy stalks in a field trip to the paddy fields of Sekinchan. The excursion was made possible courtesy of the vice-chairman of the Sekinchan Tourism Development Association, Lim Mau Soon, who provided the venue and instilled in the participants the importance of cherishing every grain of rice by describing the toil paddy farmers endure. Then on June 8, 39 members of Tzu Shao’s Muar division visited the homes of six care recipients to conduct a clean-up session and administer care, offering them the opportunity to serve the needy. Local News Muar / KL & Selangor 2019.05.26 & 06.08 On May 26, 2019, Tzu Chi Muar organized the Great Love Charity Run at Chung Hwa High School, Muar to raise funds for the construction of the Muar Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall. The 6- and 12-km run attracted the participation of not only Tzu Chi volunteers from across the nation, but also individuals and families from various countries, including Singapore, Indonesia, China, the Philippines, Germany, USA, Australia and Russia. At 6 am, the participants started arriving at the venue and performed some warm-up exercises. The run officially commenced at 7 am, flagged off by the guests of honour, businessmen Tan Sri Francis Lau, Yeo Koon Lian and Dato’ Lee Tiau Huat, as well as Bentayan state assemblyman Ng Yak Howe.
