My dear students, do as I have done, and do not overlook even the smallest lamp.” I also want to remind you not to overlook any tiny lamp. I hope you can light up the lamp in your own hearts and constantly help to light the lamps in other people’s hearts. I further hope that you can pass on the spirit of Tzu Chi and let Tzu Chi’s lamps of love shine brightly in every corner of the world. Then our world will be filled with infinite brightness. The “three ways to the Pure Land” are the foundation for learning the Buddha’s Way. I hope all readers can understand the karmic law of cause and effect, practise all good deeds, abide by your sincere faith and vows, and diligently practise these three essential principles: 1. Treat your parents with filial piety, honour your teachers, abstain from killing, nurture loving-kindness, and practise the Ten Good Deeds. 2. Take refuge in the Three Treasures, perfectly uphold all pure precepts, and do not deviate in your conduct. 3. Give rise to Bodhicitta, believe in the karmic law of cause and effect, read and recite the Great Vehicle sutras, and diligently progress on the Bodhisattva Path. When you have earnestly cultivated these pure karmic causes, you will obtain a pure heart. If everyone can cultivate these pure causes and thus attain pure hearts, then the day when our society is peaceful and harmonious will not be far away. May you all fulfil your pure potential to be good people and transform yourselves and others. Amitabha! EPILOGUE
