The world of Tzu Chi (Vol.111)
TZU CHI 111 09 to Taiwan to receive their certification as Tzu Cheng Faith Corps members and Tzu Chi Commissioners. She even took the initiative to keep the volunteers in her community connected by constant communication through social media platforms, besides engaging them in various Tzu Chi activities. Spreading positivity Over the years, customers from all walks of life have patronized Mee Hong’s hair salon. Her wealth of experience in dealing with a diverse range of people has developed in her a sense of empathy and a willingness to embrace different viewpoints. Furthermore, her flair for connecting with people has endeared her to her neighbours, facilitating her quest to rope in more acquaintances to join her in serving Tzu Chi’s cause. Her firm belief in the influential impact of charitable deeds has spurred her on to volunteer with Tzu Chi and serve the greater good. Ever helpful, she has established a reputation as the go-to person in her neighbourhood for any form of assistance. She, in turn, would accommodate each and every request by drawing from her extensive network of contacts in various fields, from care-giving services and car maintenance to rice dumpling suppliers and even funeral service providers. “Offer help unconditionally and others will reciprocate the kindness,” she proclaimed candidly. In 2018, volunteer Ng Mee Hong (2nd from left) made the trip to Taiwan with more than ten volunteers from her community who were due for certification as Tzu Cheng Faith Corps members and Tzu Chi Commissioners.
