The world of Tzu Chi (Vol.108)

2019 • 03 32 An exhibition area was installed at the Tzu Chi Ayer Keroh Recycling Education Centre to introduce visitors to Tzu Chi’s recycling mission and promote the concept of “purity at its source”. The exhibition was opened to the public on February 23, 2019, and consists of 23 segments, highlighting pressing environmental concerns from natural disasters to global warming. It features a comprehensive range of engaging, intricately designed exhibits, including informative posters, interactive installations, 3D models, video screenings and simulation activities, to ensure an immersive experience for visitors. The volunteer in charge of initiating the exhibition, Ng Swee Huang, expressed her hope that the exhibition, and the Recycling Education Centre by extension, would encourage the public to learn more about environmental issues, and inspire them to take action to save the environment. ocal News Promoting Environmental Education through Exhibition Malacca 2019.02.23 Reported by Tzu Chi Documenting Team Photograph by Lee Kin Chee On January 26, 2019, Tzu Chi volunteers visited Lim Moi, an elderly Tzu Chi care recipient, and her family in Felda Bukit Permai,Layang-Layangwitha redenvelope of blessings and wisdom, material relief and festive ornaments, marking a joyous start to the year in a newly renovated house. Lim Moi has five children; her husband had passed away many years ago. The family relies on the youngest daughter’s income and government welfare handouts to sustain their livelihood. In early 2017, Tzu Chi volunteers started extending care to Lim Moi and her family, who live in an old, dilapidated wooden hut built on stilts. The family was reluctant to relocate, hence the volunteers gave the house a thorough makeover in November 2018, and a fresh coat of paint the following month.
