The world of Tzu Chi September 2024 (Vol.151)

TZU CHI 151 05 registered with the Malaysian Ministry of Education, becoming the only private refugee education institutions in Malaysia approved by the government. Here, children can study without fear of law enforcement interference. To date, these ALCs have recorded over 6,000 enrolments for preschool and primary education. The curriculum covers English, Malay, Chinese, Mathematics, and Science. Beyond academics, the ALCs cultivate character through humanistic culture education, guiding children towards the right path in life. After graduation, Tzu Chi assists them in progressing to secondary schools or vocational institutions. Some graduates, resettled abroad by the UNHCR, have successfully integrated into local education systems and even pursued university degrees in fields such as nursing and engineering. In addition to imparting knowledge, education also nourishes the soul. At Tzu-Chi ALCs, children are surrounded by love and nurtured with kindness. Despite adversity, they find the strength to grow, using knowledge and a positive outlook to bloom beautifully in a foreign land. Let us glimpse into the world of these children, feel their resilience and courage, and understand the profound impact education has on their futures.
