From prevention measures to coexisting with viruses, how well do we truly understand these microscopic invaders? Disease Prevention Combat Camp Period : October 10, 2023 – February 29, 2024 Time : 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Venue : KL Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall (free admission) T he “Disease Prevention Combat Camp” science exhibition, jointly organised by Tzu Chi KL & Selangor, Taiwan National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), and Taiwan National Science and Technology Museum (NSTM), officially kicked off at the KL Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall on October 8, 2023. The opening ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including Deputy Minister of Education, YB Lim Hui Ying; Deputy Director-General of Health (Public Health), Datuk Dr. Norhayati; Deputy Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, Joy Yen; and NSTM Director-General, Lee Hsiu-Feng. This interactive and informative exhibition promises to take visitors on a journey of knowledge and discovery, providing an in-depth understanding of three major infectious diseases, namely dengue fever, influenza, and COVID-19, through comic art, multimedia, and interactive games. Regardless of age, visitors can play the role of a disease prevention ‘Hero’ by obtaining a complimentary “Hero Card” and registering themselves near the exhibition entrance. Points accumulated for their participation in the games and challenges, such as the “Crime Scene” infrared shooting game, “The Immunisation Speedster” motion- sensing game, and “Disease Prevention Battle Stage” dance mat quiz game, will be recorded in the card, which can be used throughout the exhibition period. The top eight scorers will be displayed on the Mighty Disease Prevention Hero scoreboard.
