TZU CHI 138 27 Because of love Through a short text from Samira, a Myanmarese refugee, Yap Poh Wee sensed her urgent needs. Worried that she may be facing a food shortage crisis, the volunteer instantly reported Samira’s plight to the Tzu Chi KL & Selangor office, and applied for Food Care for her. Yap Poh Wee and a few volunteers went to her home to deliver the cash vouchers. Samira, 40, met Poh Wee downstairs with her son in joy and relief. Poh Wee introduced Samira to the Food Care project, and then accompanied the mother and son to a mini-market, conversing on the way, catching up with their lives. When Samira talked about how they first met, with every detail impressed in her mind, she choked back her tears. The first meeting In July, Samira was granted the Covid-19 CBI 2 subsidy.
