TZU CHI 135 19 National Defence University, was jointly organized by Tzu Chi and MyCare. No feasible solution but help must go on The plight of the refugees is an endless challenge. Given its multi-dimensional challenge, NGOs are often bombarded by a plethora of views from different segments of society. It is thus essential, according to CEO Kamarul Zaman, to lay down proper management guidelines and to stand firm on its mission. “Any mishandling of funding by one NGO would lead to a negative perception of all NGOs by the public. This is damaging to NGOs as a whole. Hence, it is only wise that NGOs are well managed. This involves religious values too. Muslims are encouraged to make donations and do good deeds during Ramadan. When Muslims trust and give their donations to MyCARE, we must ensure there is proper accountability,” he added. While many people worry about social resources being shared with non-citizens, many also suggest giving priority to locals. Kamarul Zaman maintains that MyCARE was formed to carry out international humanitarian aid. As for locals, there is always the Yayasan Ikram Malaysia: i-Bantu. “Besides, the Malaysian Government has a system of help for its people. Take In addition to international humanitarian aid, MyCARE also cares for the needy locals. In 2018, MyCARE arrived at an indigenous village in Kemensah, Selangor, to distribute supplies and extend care.
