12 For over half a century, Tzu Chi follows a SOP for its charity visits. The volunteers work together to improve the care recipients’ situation and extend care to their family members. During the pandemic, home visits had to be replaced with phone calls for most cases, but Tzu Chi ensured that the care recipients received their monthly supplies or financial aid. Additionally, the volunteers delivered used computers to care recipients’ children who needed one for online classes. Whenever a disaster struck, volunteers were on hand to provide timely care and aid. To further help local poor families who were economically impacted by the pandemic, Tzu Chi KL & Selangor launched the “Kita1Keluarga” relief programme to provide three- month financial assistance from September to November.
